In 1951, Kenneth was drafted into the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict until his honorable discharge on Oct. 9, 1953. On Aug. 8, 1953, he married his high school sweetheart, Arbutus Wegner, at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Cecil. For a short time, Kenneth worked at Appleton Coated before the couple began dairy farming, until their retirement. Kenneth still enjoyed helping on the farm, along with tractor rides. Kenneth was extremely proud his military service and was a member of the Bonduel American Legion Post 217. He had a love for old Army Jeeps — so much so, that he drove his own restored jeep in numerous local parades year after year. In past years, he enjoyed snowmobiling, travelling with Arbutus, including trips throughout the states and numerous countries, and four-wheeling. He took great pride in his new Gator, which he purchased this past winter.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Arbutus; his son, Gerald “Jerry” (Alice) Schneider, of Cecil; two daughters, Joyce (Roger) Olson, of Shawano, and JoAnn (Steve Schmidt) Schneider, of Gillett; three grandchildren, Jesse (Tieha Kuczer) Schneider, of Bonduel, Lisa (Matt Dazell) Schmidt, of Merrillville, Indiana, and Nikki Schmidt, of Gillett. He is further survived by his brother, Clarence (Barb) Schneider, of Cecil; a sister-in-law, Shirley Wegner, of Shawano; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
