
Hubert Hugo Robenhorst, 88, of Suring, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018, in Green Bay. Hubert was born in Breed on Jan. 6, 1930, the son of the late Robert and Viola (Lemke) Robenhorst. In 1949, Hubert joined the United States Army proudly serving our country for three years during the Korean Conflict. On April 25, 1953, he was united in marriage to Rita Ann O’Neil at St. Peter Catholic Church in Oconto. Hubert loved taking care of his wife until her passing on Jan. 14, 2012. He worked for Super Excavators for 42 years. After his retirement, he and Rita were snowbirds traveling the country until finally settling on the family homestead in Breed. Hubert was a faithful member of St. Michael’s Chapel-Chute Pond Suring where he ushered and served on the grounds committee. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 283 in Suring and a 63-year member of the Operating Engineers Union 139. Hubert loved being outdoors hunting and fishing or tinkering with various projects. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family.
Hubert is survived by his six children, Robert (Andrea) Robenhorst, of Horicon, Anita (Darrell) Wagenknecht, of Suring, Annette Robenhorst, of Germantown, Rodney Robenhorst, of Pickeral, Randy (friend Karen Yerges) Robenhorst, of Mayville, and Amy (Tim) Kabachinski, of Grand Chute; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two sisters, Loretta Shehow and Betty (Jim) Wegner.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita; his parents; and his siblings, Herbert, Arlene, Roger and three infant siblings.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018, at St. Michael‘s Chapel-Chute Pond in Suring with Father Rico officiating, assisted by Sister Marla. Inurnment will be in Breed Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Swedberg Zastrow Funeral Home in Cecil is assisting the family with the arrangements.
