Geraldine “Gerri’ (Kohn) Lauersdorf, age 85, of Gillett, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017.
She was born Dec. 6, 1931, in the Town of Cecil to the late Eldon and Lucille (Schmidt) Kohn. She was a graduate of Bonduel High School. Gerri married Melvin “Mel” Lauersdorf on Dec. 13, 1952, at White Clay Lake Lutheran Church in the Town of Washington. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Gillett.
Gerri and her husband, Mel, farmed in the Town of Gillett until their retirement. She also worked some summers at Country Gardens of Gillett. Gerri loved bowling with the women’s team at the Gillett American Legion. She loved gardening and her flower beds and always loved having her cats and kittens outdoors. Gerri especially loved her large family gatherings.
Gerri is survived by her children: Rhonda (Bryan) Kain, Jim (Jodie) Lauersdorf, Jackie (Gerry) Lemirande, Jody (Kelly) Lauersdorf and Amy (Jeff Smet) Holmes. She also leaves her grandchildren: Tonya, Justin, Josh, Kim, Andrew, Chris, Nick, Brandon, Matt, Brianna, Tandymn, Jaylan and Jayden, her great-grandchildren: Akeem, Kaylee, Brynlee, Brayden, Braxden, Colton, Harper, Gunner and a baby girl who is expected. She is further survived by her brothers Allen Kohn of Fairfax, Virginia, and Wayne Kohn of Gillett as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Gerri was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Mel, her daughter Lou Ann and her son Jeff Lauersdorf, her sister Gloria (Elroy) Schmidt and her brothers Lyle (Dawn) Kohn, Ronnie Kohn and Larry Kohn, and a son-in-law Steve Holmes.
Private services will be held with final rest in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Gillett.
