Diane L. Foster, age 68, of Little Chute, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018. Diane was born on Sept. 25, 1950, to the late Claire and Mabel (Marsh) Foster.

Diane was smart and could remember the stupidest facts or things. She enjoyed reading sci-fi books and once in a while enjoyed a romantic book. Diane was a naturally talented artist and could make up the coolest crafts. Her passion was gardening — from working the soil, planting the seeds, weeding and, most of all, harvesting. She canned, cooked, baked and pickled everything she could. She loved to talk to anyone about gardening and canning, and often would get her doctors talking about that instead of her care. Because she was alone, she shared everything she made with her family, friends, co-workers and neighbors. Diane is famous for her dill pickles, whose recipe we have never been able to master. There is hope that her goddaughter Amanda has been passed the baton.

Diane hated men, but loved cats and animals in general. She was really good friends with Lois and Earl and Judy and her husband. Though Diane was never blessed with children of her own, her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews were all her children in her heart. She was like a second mom and grandmother to her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Diane never forgot a birthday, and even if she was broke, she would still find a way to give you a gift. She loved telling stories to her nieces and nephews about her childhood or telling embarrassing stories. Diane could remember things about her great-nieces and great-nephews that their parents could forget. She will be missed and was loved by all who knew her.

Diane is survived by three sisters, Dorothy (Karl) Jansen, of Amberg, Donna Vorachek, of Menasha, Debbie (Steve Johnson) Hoerth, of Suring; sister-in-law, Bonnie Foster, of Appleton; her special cats, Mouse and Felix; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She is further survived by many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, David Foster Sr.; sister, Darlene LaRocque.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Diane on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, at the Breed Community Center starting at 3 p.m. with food and refreshments. Come as you are, and bring your memories and stories. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be expressed at www.gruetzmacherfuneralhome.com.

“Till we meet again, love Dorothy, Donna and Debbie.”
