
Leo S. Thielke, 89, of Suring, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018. Leo was born on July 2, 1928, to the late James and Catherine Thielke in Suring and graduated from Suring High School with the Class of 1946. Leo married Dolores Hermann in February 1951 in Coleman. Leo and Dolores enjoyed many fishing dates, along with spending winter days building birdhouses. Leo greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
Leo is survived by his six children, Ruth (Ron) Bucheger, Jerry (Yvonne) Thielke, Jim (Kathy) Thielke, Joe (Sharri) Thielke, Jo Ann (Tom) Usiak, and Sue Loberger; 10 grandchildren, James Bucheger, Nicholas Bucheger, Jessica Thielke, Jarvis (Jamie) Thielke, Jake Thielke, Jared Thielke, Jensen Thielke, Andy (Alina) Shallow, Amanda (Chris) Schuler, and Sonya Loberger; five great-grandchildren, Skyler Thielke, Drew Shallow, Charlotte Shallow, Leo Schuler, and Cora Schuler. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Dolores; his parents; five brothers, Lawrence, Clarence, George, Art and Milton; son-in-law, Rich Loberger.
Visitation will be held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home on Friday, March 16, 2018, from 4-8 p.m. with a Prayer Vigil at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Suring from 9:30 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Father Rico Eclar officiating. Interment will follow at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring is assisting the family with arrangements.
